-Rancho Oso Preserve on the Go-
One of our favorite Thousand Trails Campgrounds is Rancho Oso located in Northern Santa Barbara County near Lake Cachuma. Off Highway 154 (San Marcos Pass) in the Santa Ynez River Watershed is this heaven of a campground. Lots of great views, oak trees, creeks, waterfalls, wildlife (see other posts), hikes and places to visit, such as Solvang, Wine Country etc. Between early morning picture taking, hiking and great breakfasts at the historic Stone Lodge we both had lots of fun and very relaxing. Also, we purchased a new high def TV which received quality reception for the first time in 7 years at the campground. Also, cellphone reception was also had at our campsite with our new ATT phones. We have never had reception in the campground and always had to drive to a turnout in the campground roads, known as "Verizon Hill" to get off a phone call.
